Silver Birch (Reception)
Welcome back to another exciting term in Silver Birch!
We hope you all enjoyed the break and have had a good start to 2023.
This term our topic is called 'Save Our Planet!' and we will be looking at different habitats across the globe. We will be looking at the plants and animals that live in different habitats and what they need to survive.
We will be using the text 'Greta and the Giants' to support our learning as well as focusing on some key people who have advocated for caring for our planet - David Attenborough and Greta Thunberg.
We will continue to teach phonics daily and each week we will let you know the new sounds in the weekly overview which is available on Tapestry. Please revise these sounds with your child and listen to them read as regularly as you can.
Our maths focus is on using equipment such as part part whole models and tens frames to manipulate numbers within 10 and learn number bonds eg 5 + 1 = 6 as well as 4 + 2 and 3 + 3
If you have any questions about our learning this term please do ask.
Please see the curriculum overview for this term in the documents below for more information.
